Hair losing does not has any certain age. That is also simple, but important process. That might start in ten years old or at the end of life. That is an active process, so it might be raising, being fixed and than giong on again As we see, hormones and genes are not effective only by themselves. When time passes, the defence of organism goes down. Because hair is a part of organism, hair defence is getting less by years. The rate of hair losing increases among the people having genetic tendency. There is a relationship between baldness and virility hormone. Testerone which is an androgen hormone is transformed to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by an enzyme called alpha-5 reductase. DHT shows its effect by being attached to receivers which are over hair roots. Hair lose do not accur on males who have the deficiency of enzyme alpha-5 reductase. DHT shortens anagen phase period on people who have genetic tendency. This situation causes anagen phase shortage more and more. This means the shortage of hair’s reach to its maximum lenght and at the general view of hairs the shortage of hairs which are in anagen phase relatively. Catagen and telogen phase (break phase and rest phase) finish with hair fall. There is no time change at these phases. However, when the anagen phase shortens, the rate at the whole hair blocks, increases relatively and this means that there is more hair fall proportionally. Normally, two types of hair is produced at anagen phase: 1) terminal (thick and colourful) hairs 2) vellus (thin and colourless) hairs. As it is known, vellus hairs fall more quickly. Yet, at Androgenetic Alopecia people shrinkage (miniaturization) occurs at terminal hair roots in a gradually fast way by the effect of hormones and genes. Consequently, the terminal hairs start to resemble to the vellus hairs. Weak, thin and colourless hairs start to multiply at the miniaturized roots. When the roots which are stil going on to shrink are examined after a time by a microscope, it is seen that they are turned to a left over of the cell cover and thus the hair root disappears. Both men and women have androgen hormone. It can be asked why everybody’s hair do not fal lif everyone has these hormones. Here, in addition to genetics conveying, the points that are mentioned below are also important: 1) The amount of androgen receivers that are over people’s hair who are androgenetic alopecia is excessive. The effect of the hormone over hair is too much because of the number of receivers which fasten it is high even the hormone is in a normal level. 2) Receivers of androgenetic alopecia people are more sensitive. Alpha-5 reductase enzyme activity of androgenetic alopecia events is much more. Two types of hair are
produced in anagene phase normally:
